Beyonce's lil sis Solange Knowles is coming out with her forthcoming sophomore album this August and it will now be called Soul Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams (Originally it was just called Solange and the Hadley Street Dreams, then she changed it to Just What I Want. Now she had a change of heart once again). From the set, a brand new snippet (confirmed to be her first single) can be heard and it's called I Decided:

I Decided is produced by The Neptunes. It's an oldskool remake as she samples the soulful Love Is Like A Heat Wave by Motown quartet Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, which was very popular in the 60's. The single was a breakthrough hit, peaking at number four on the Billboard Pop Singles Chart, and at number-one on the Billboard R&B Singles Chart. It also garnered the group's only Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for 1964. My mother was only 4 years old at the time but it's one of her favourite tunes. It appears Solange is going the Amy Winehouse route with this new musical direction of hers. The album will definitely have a maturer sound in contrast to the last one. Unsurprisingly, I actually like this (I've liked a lot of her stuff in the past. Solo Star really wasn't a bad album. There were some hot beats on it). I am not really sure if this new direction actually suits her. Maybe she's experimenting who knows. All I know is that she'll never escape Beyonce's shadow or get her just dues. The singer/songwriter will release her new album on Geffen records and she's worked with The Neptunes, Marsha Ambrosius (from Floetry), Soulshock & Karlin, Mark Ronson, Swizz Beatz and Thomas "Cee-Lo" Callaway amongst many others.
