UK CHART WATCH: NE-YO HITS NO 1 WITH CLOSER // CHRIS BROWN PULLS TOP 10 HAT TRICK....

A new feature on the blog will involve reporting on what's going on in the UK charts. I think it's a good idea considering that I've been told many a time that the blog is too Americanized and doesn't concentrate enough on the British pool of music and what's going on over here (being British myself and all). It's still an R&B post but it's just emphasising that R&B music is just as big over here as anywhere else. So check out the update.

Last night, Ne-yo came straight in at no 1 with his lead single 'Closer' taken from his third forthcoming album 'Year of The Gentlemen'.

Chris Brown has TWO top 5 hits in the UK singles. He is featured on Jordin Spark's 'No Air' which went in at no 3 and his own single 'Forever' went in at no 4. Chris has finally cracked the UK because With You made top 10 recently as well and his re-released album 'Exclusive: The Forever Edition' has entered at no 6 in the UK Album's Chart!

After being no 1 with 'Take A Bow' for two weeks, Rihanna slides back down to no 5, right behind her boyfriend.

Mariah Carey came in at no 30 with 'Bye Bye' but I'm sure that's on downloads alone. It'll most likely get a higher position next week.

What do you think about these positions? Do these songs/albums deserve their success?
