R&B BITES: USHER TO OPEN FOR NFL, CHRIS BROWN'S LABEL TAKES ACTION FOR UNAUTHORIZED LEAKS & MARIAH CAREY HAS ANOTHER MARRIAGE CELEBRATION....

With the recent news of Usher re-hiring his mama as his manager, Usher seems to be making amends to his lukewarm musical comeback this year and will follow it up by helping to kick off the 2008 NFL season with a special concert to be held at New York's Columbus Circle on September 4th.

The 29-year-old will join legendary country singer Keith Urban. The concert will be a free gig and will feature across the NFL Network, NFL.com and Sprints NFL Mobile Live. NBC will also air footage the following day. The September 4th show will introduce the NFL season opener between the Superbowl champion New York Giants and the Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. So far so good!

Mariah Carey likes to have long marriage celebrations and especially at the expense of others. Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid held Mariah and Nick Cannon's celebration party at his Sagaponack home Saturday night.

Apparently, Page Six reports that LA hired Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs to festoon his house with flowers and candles. Those who arrived included Gwyneth Paltrow, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Ripa, Samuel L. Jackson and Star Jones. As we all know Mariah is over the top things got a little out of hand and neighbors called police at midnight with noise complaints. The newlyweds are spending the rest of the week at a farm in East Hampton they rented for $125,000.

Chris Brown has been the victim of a massive leak as many of his unreleased/unheard music poured all over the E-Net streets recently. Jive Records does not want the fans believing it's part of a promotional plan. In fact, they claim it's not even his material.

A statement from the label states: Recently, unauthorized Chris Brown material was leaked online. Most of the unfinished songs were demos and reference tracks Brown and his production team were writing and producing for other artists. Brown's record label, Jive Records is doing everything possible to prevent any further illegal distribution of these tracks. Although I've been seeing the music on many blogs I didn't post as I believed they were just old tracks from his debut and re-release 'Exclusive'. Still, Chris is certainly moving on up with writing for other artists. Not that his songs are any good but if people are buying them and the music is in demand, why not make that money?.....
