The video was directed by Solange herself and I have to say for a first time directorial debut, this video is pretty mind-blowing, from the colours, outfits, special effects, and the graphics. As a respected solo artist Solange sure is standing out on her own two feet as well. I think it's pretty safe to say that Solange has certainly separated herself from her superstar sister and is now walking in her own shadow. She has shown an incredible determination to be her own person, musically. She could easily have jumped on the bandwagon and hired IT collaborators like T-Pain, Akon and Ludacris and embraced a more contemporary sound. But instead, opted to take a risk with adopting her own style, with the oldskool funk-soul/Jazz & Blues influences from the 60's era. The song is genius as well. Solange certainly is making moves. Kudos to her.
