Her latest promo is slowly doing wonders. Latest single 'The Way That I Love You' has now cracked iTunes Top 100 by landing at the #98 position. The song has also moved up to #9 on the R&B charts. New album The Declaration has moved up from #8 to #7 on iTunes' Top Albums.
Being mixed race doesn't deter Leona from getting sun burnt, which is why she is backing the Teenage Cancer Trust's Shunburn campaign initiative of sending teens free texts on hot days to remind them to use sun cream:
She talks about why she is supporting the campaign: "I got badly burnt a few years ago" says Leona. "It was very painful and embarrassing. Because I'm mixed race I thought I wouldn't get burnt. But it just goes to prove anyone can. My parents used to lather me up with sun cream when I was a kid but you forget when you've got to do it yourself. My neck and chest are really sensitive from where I got burnt so I make sure I protect those areas. I wear a really high factor and only go out in the sun for a little while. I've been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles recently and I've been putting on factor 30 and keeping covered up – so I'm practising what I preach".
