If I hadn't an ounce of knowledge that Babyface was behind the production, I'd have thought that 'Just Stand Up', (which is in aid of the 'Stand Up To Cancer' campaign) was another Stargate production. R&B/Pop diva's Beyonce, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis, Mary J Blige, Keyshia Cole, Ashanti, Ciara and Fergie all came together to record the track among a host of other high-profile songstresses (Miley Cirus, Natasha Bedingfield, Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge and Leann Rimes):


With the sparse hand claps and acoustically-driven guitars, you can easily make that mistake. I am quite disappointed that Babyface would hop on another producer's sound just because it's become so popularized. I expected so much bigger and better from a prestigious well respected producer like Babyface. I know I shouldn't be complaining because it's for a good cause but I had to let that be known.

Take away the lyrics and exchange them for some 'you's a weak bitch negro'-pissed female perspective and there you have it. That said, the song IS a nice song but not groundbreaking. No song will ever beat the classic single 'We Are The World' (I can't wait to see the video for this all the same).

And those who were bitching when I made a post referring to the song where I put "Beyonce and co" as the title, I guess I was proven right to do so. Not only does she lead the song in the beginning but she ended up singing the most parts with the most words! Overall, everyone's vocals fit the song pretty great. You can check out who sang what after the cut. I've colour-coded everyone's names so you can easily see.
