MARIAH CAREY PERFORMS 'BYE BYE' ON AMERICAN IDOL // E=MC² REPORTED TO GO GOLD IN FIRST WEEK OF RELEASE....

Mariah Carey performed her upcoming new single Bye Bye last night on American Idol during its results show. According to reports her new album E=MC² (which was released this week) sold a staggering 154,000 copies in its first day of release. Wow! The album is expected to sell more than 500,000 units in the first week. Check out the performance:

This is fantastic news for Mariah. E=MC² is a fun album and vocally, she brought it. With all the hype surrounding Leona Lewis being the next one to step into her shoes, Mariah is proving she has nothing to worry about (two of them can still be highly successful and have friendly competition). As for the performance, it's becoming expected of Mariah to deliver sheer mediocrity but I really commend her for not lip-synching this time round.
