So, I am feeling everything Jamelia is saying until she says the following: "Although for a black woman I would be described as having 'good' hair - because it is long and straight - naturally, it is not luxurious, thick or sleek enough to meet the demands of the endless photo shoots and concerts I am involved in for my career". If you're going to write an article debating against a good cause, don't contaminate it with ignorance because you lose the validity of your argument altogether. In the black community 'good hair' is defined by quality and texture. For example, Mya, Chilli and Alicia Keys are all considered to be chicks with 'good hair', by black people standards. I never knew Jamelia had their hair because it looks like regular black hair to me. And the length of someone's hair doesn't define what type of hair they have either.
