♫ KERI HILSON FEAT LIL WAYNE: 'TURN OFF' [NEW SONG].....

A brand new unmastered Keri Hilson track has leaked from her forthcoming album 'In A Perfect World' which has now been pushed back once again to Nov 4th. 'Turn Off' is produced by Polow Da Don and features Lil Wayne....

The bass-heavy production is infectious but not as commercial-savvy as 'Do It' which I thought was going to be the next single anyway. Now I'm reading that this song may be released as the second single instead. Matter of fact, Interscope are making a right mockery out of this project. 'Do It' is probably one of the hottest tracks to have leaked from the project and the one mistake was not putting it out as lead single.

When I saw Keri perform that a few weeks ago at some gig with the cute lil choreography, I was thinking this song could easily have given Keri the big break she so desperately needs to get this project up and rolling. On this new track, Keri's vocals are a bit off or I'm thinking that the vocals are purposely meant to sound that way to add to the song's uniqueness. To me it sounds like someone dubbed her voice to sound rather unflatteringly premature.

I'm particularly feeling the 'aaahhh-aaahhh-aaahhh-aaahhh' in the chorus but Lil Wayne's crusty voice on the track is pretty off-putting. I don't get why R&B acts are lining him up as as some sort of prosperity to achieving an instant hit. He's fast becoming the new T-Pain/Akon. Sure, he sold a million records in a week but he's just grimey and irritating. Anyway, Keri knows half her shit is out there:
"It does hurt the artist’s feelings" Keri Hilson admitted about the recent leaking of tracks off her debut album 'In a Perfect World'. "Half of my album has leaked" SOURCE
So if Keri knows this, I'm pretty sure Interscope are very much aware of this as well. But what exactly is being done to correct the situation? Pushing back her album ten times in one year without doing anything else to spark up any interest in the album isn't going to build up buzz and momentum. A second single should have been sent out to radio by now along with a new video so what is going on? A 2008 release is looking more and more unlikely, unfortunately.
