SO BRITNEY SPEARS REALLY IS ABOUT TO OPEN THE 2008 MTV VMAS.....

I might be a bit late with this post but better late than never. Britney Spears's manager Larry Rudolph, confirmed not too long ago that Britney would NOT be performing at the 2008 MTV VMAs but yesterday afternoon, MTV and Britney herself have announced she WILL BE OPENING the VMAs this Sunday .....

The 26-year-old is on the road to recovery and is "excited" to open the 2008 awards.

"MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?" she told People magazine.

"I'm excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated."

The singer has been nominated 16 times for an astronaut-shaped VMA but has never been successful. READ MORE

The REAL question that is on everyone's lips is, if she's not performing, what EXACTLY will she be doing to kick off the ceremony? Post your suggestions and ideas, if you have any. That said, I'm glad she isn't performing and is taking her time with her comeback. We wouldn't want any repeats of her disastrous VMA performance last year. Besides, one more year to wait for another VMA performance from Britney is a small price to pay if it means she'll nail it spot on. I look forward to the new single and album early next year.
