TONI BRAXTON INKS NEW DEAL WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS.....

Toni Braxton has signed a brand new recording contract with Atlantic Records. The R&B songstress who is now competing on the ABC reality series 'Dancing with the Stars,' has selected music to begin recording her CD for Atlantic while competing on the show.....

The project is expected to be released in early 2009. The 40-year-old singer was last signed to Blackground Records, where she released her fifth album 'Libra' in September 2005. The singer has previously released four albums over a 12-year stint on LaFace Records, then filed suit against Blackground's founder Barry Hankerson, who also managed the singer, after her CD failed to perform.

I am happy that Toni is finally getting back to the music but find it rather questionable that she'd go on a strength-consuming show like 'Dancing with the Stars'. Didn't she pull out of her Las Vegas show 'Toni Braxton: Revealed' at the Flamingo Las Vegas earlier this year due to it putting pressure on her heart?

I would think 'Dancing with the Stars,' requires just as much physical pressure as the Broadway stint, if not more because she's practicing her routine on a DAILY basis. I know that must consume lots of energy. I only think she's doing it because it serves as good promotion for her forthcoming project. I guess her doctor had to give her the go-ahead to do the show so if she can take it and all is well, then good for her. I totally look forward to the new album. Her debut and 'Secrets' will never get old in this stereo and she needs to go back to creating that magical and very classic spark again.
