JENNIFER HUDSON WORKS WITH TIMBALAND ON NEW CD....

The man behind Leona Lewis's massive hit single 'Bleeding Love' says there's "a very strong possibility" he'll contribute something to the debut disc from the big-voiced Oscar winner and Idol castoff — now that Clive Davis is taking the album in a new direction. [SOURCE]

According to Ryan 'Alias' Tedder, the album envisages "high-energy, beat-driven material with soulful hooks". He says of the project:
"They made half an album and ended up scrapping it. Clive — wisely, I think — said, 'No one's going to buy this. We're trying to turn her into Aretha Franklin, and that's not realistic. They scrapped a bunch of songs and started fresh".

"I heard a Timbland song that was by far the best song she's done. I do wish, and I know the label wishes, that this album had come out six months ago. But Clive's smart. He didn't want to just put out a crap album just because of the momentum"
If they were realistic from the jump, a whole lot of time would would not have been wasted recording music that has no marketability factor. I do think her album is long overdue and that she should have released it during Dreamgirls hype. Still, Timbaland and Ryan Tedder is a good look for her. Although there's not that much hype surrounding her album, she has to build that hype by coming hard with the new material.

In other news, Jen is rumoured to be negotiating to star in yet ANOTHER movie role - this time it's Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys, a drama Perry wrote and will direct and star in, reports Variety. Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Rockmond Dunbar are already set for the project, which begins shooting March 2 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. The story focuses on two families from different sides of the tracks that become intimately involved in love and business. I guess music has come secondary to her now.
