Chattanooga Times has reported that R&B singer Usher's biological father, Usher Raymond III, died on January 19, 2008 in an Atlanta hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Taylor Funeral Home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Usher never had much of a fatherly-son relationship with his dad as he walked out on his mama, Jonetta Patton shortly after she gave birth to him on Oct. 14, 1978, in Chattanooga. Usher's dad had been addicted to crack and jailed several times for shoplifting, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer. Recently, Usher made the decision to allow his father back into his life soon after he released his record-breaking album Confessions in 2004. I think it's good that Usher managed to make peace with his father before he died.
