CLIVE DAVIS PRE-GRAMMY PARTY PERFORMANCES: LEONA LEWIS & FANTASIA.....

Leona Lewis performed at the annual Pre-Grammy Award party last night in LA which was hosted by the legendary Clive Davis. She sang a live instrumental version of 'Bleeding Love':

Whilst she did a decent job of the song it was not her greatest performance by a long shot. During the big climax, she was struggling with that massive high note. This was suppose to be one of her most important performances of her career so I was expecting her to nail it, move mountains, make people cry, touch the soul. But she failed big time. As it was Leona's biggest night in the US, she can easily be forgiven if it was all down to nerves. I guess she will have many other opportunities to redeem herself from this. However, she can't afford to continue to slip up like this if she's going to appeal to the tough cracking American market.

Fantasia performed 'I'm Here' which is a song she performed in the Broadway adaptation of 'The Color Purple' where she played the character 'Celie':

Wow. She ate Leona for breakfast. She took it there church-style! She saaaaang til the cows came home *lol*. Impressive! This is how you put on a performance. Even though her performance was over the top at times I guess it is because she is feeling the emotions when she puts it out there and that's a great thing!

When the Alicia Keys performance becomes available I'll add it to this post.
