MYA WINS PART IN BROADWAY'S 'CHICAGO'....

Mya had a horrible year last year. Despite putting out two singles and shooting the video's for Lock You Down and Ridin', her album Liberation got shelved. It was then leaked on-line via a Japenese music store, so pretty much everyone got their hands on the album (including me *lol*). Now she has left Motown to go independent and is putting the musical disaster behind her to concentrate on her Broadway debut in the long-running revival of "Chicago,":

The sexy singer will lend her vocals to the role of Velma Kelly, the cohort of Roxie Hart, played currently by stage veteran Bianca Marroquin. Here's what she had to say about the role:
"It's something I always wanted to do; sing, dance, act and tell a story," Mya tells the Associated Press. "It's probably the ultimate complete dream for me."

"I have gone through all the material with the show's musical director and everything is suited for my key," she said. "We don't have to do any transposing. It's perfect."
I think this is great news for Mya. It's definetely a stepping stone and she's had some experience in the Chicago franchise but it was just minor. This however is HUGE! Mya is reportedly going through a strenuous workout plan, which includes cardio, muscle strengthening, and stretching to get ready for her new part. READ MORE HERE.
