The song is straight pop. It doesn't even have an R&B flare to it - straight up gay club music. I personally think the song is wack. Dont get me wrong. Christina has always been a pop artist but some of those pop joints were pretty solid, at least the album cuts were anyway. I would rather listen to the vomity 'AM to PM' to this.
And just because Rihanna and Chris Brown are storming the charts with the Europop/synth beats doesn't mean that everyone will be able to ride that sound successfully. I'm not going to judge her whole album by this one track though because that just wouldn't be fair, and her enlisted roster of producers seems extremely promising.
It seems they're channeling the same path as Rihanna's 'Don't Stop The Music' with this direction, but at least Rihanna's song had that extra sprout, whereas this song falls pretty flat.
