SOLANGE 'J&R MUSIC FEST' PERFORMANCES....

Last week, Solange performed a couple of tracks from her new album 'Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams' at J&R's MusicFest 2008. She performed 'I Decided' (below):

.... as well as '6 'O Clock Blues', 'T.O.N.Y' and latest single 'Sandcastle Disco'. The performances were brilliant but I'm going to discuss the performance above. It was crazy. As lengthy as it was, I was entertained by every single flamboyant minute - from the charismatic and fun dance routines to the audience participation to singing all her songs live and her cute rendition of 'Heat Wave' in between. Solo has pretty much cemented herself as a full-on performer. I loved it.

As soon as the music starts, she comes alive and owns the stage, which is what should be done for EVERY artist. And you don't have to be a Ciara or a Chris Brown to throw down either. If people have come to see you, it's because they expect to be entertained. And if they're not getting entertained, they may as well use their ticket funds to stay home and rent a movie from Blockbuster instead.

Aside from the stank attitude, she came hard with the music AND and her performances have been really good. Check out the other performances after the cut.
