Solange Knowles has shown us that she's her mother's child this week when she unprofessionally snapped at a news reporter on LIVE television. Apparently, Solange didn't like what was said before they went on air and felt the need to put the reporter in her place (and confirm her sister Beyonce's marriage to Jay-Z, lol):
Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Solange is the LAST person to get on someone for being unprofessional after reacting like that. She really just needs to grin and bear it that people will affiliate her to big sis Beyonce, especially since Beyonce is one of the biggest household names in showbusiness.
A couple of years ago, she was seen as the "failure" of the family who got knocked up at 17 and was coerced into marriage by her parents just to save face, only for the marriage not to last (didn't take a psychic to see that one coming). Whilst her parents put all their attention and devotion into Beyonce and her flourishing musical career, Solange was up to all sorts, probably due to feeling like the rejected unfavoured sibling.
As a result, she should count her blessings that people are willing to give her the time of day and are beginning to take her seriously as a legitimate recording artist especially since that wasn't the case several years a go. Solange came across as a REAL bitch in that interview and she wasn't even woman enough to apologise or admit she was in the wrong. The poor reporter certainly didn't deserve the short end of Solange's stank attitude.
I think her new LP 'Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams' is a BRILLIANT album and I've been supporting her non-stop. But if she continues to carry on like this, that support is set to dwindle. Mama Tina AND Solange BOTH need training in how to act professionally in interviews instead of like buckwild ghetto hoochie mama's. I remember Tina going off on a reporter a couple of years ago pretty much the exact same way whilst the camera's were rolling.
Beyonce on the other hand would never have reacted this way (although this is suppose to be Solange's week, I look forward to seeing Beyonce on The Early show tomorrow). The older Knowles sister has a professional resonance about her in EVERY aspect of her career, whether it's dropping on her ass and acting like it didn't happen or coming across as sincere and pleasant no matter what gets thrown her way, I have yet to see the 26-year-old lose her composure like that. It definitely explains why Beyonce is the multi-platinum selling superstar, whilst Solange is the one still struggling to hit it big.
Reporter starts off with the following: "Solange Knowles is trying to step out of her older sister Beyonce's shadow, much like Ashlee Simpson did with older sister Jessica". But when Solange was interviewed by Fox News Las Vegas, things didn't go quite the way they were supposed to. Before her interview went live, Solange was asked if she would talk about the closing of Jay-Z's Las Vegas Club 40/40. The answer was obviously no, so the anchor agreed not to mention it on air. Solange wasn't aware that this happened off-camera, so after she was enthusiastically welcomed to the show by the news anchor, she sternly said: "I have to say, that was not a very professional introduction before. Please don't tie me into family and my brother-in-law's establishment."
