The picture is pure HOTNESS! The R&B-pop track not so much. The song definitely has cross-over appeal and is pretty catchy but doesn't necessarily mean 'groundbreaking'.
The song isn't that bad to be honest. It just doesn't stand out or has that fire prior to their previous work together. When I first found out that Brandy had re-teamed with Rodney, the man behind her classic album 'Never Say Never' I was really excited because the production on that album was just MAGICAL. The beats were electrifying and hot, the arrangements were outstanding and her vocals were unique and static.
As for this new track, it doesn't recapture the magical essence that was prevalent on the last Rodney and Brandy partnership or comes remotely close. If anything they're certainly playing it safe. Whilst I like the song, something about it is lacking. It certainly seems they're targeting the Pop crowd with this latest new sound. I was expecting her to come a little harder than this. But if this is the push she needs to get her music career back on track then fairdo's.
For me though, I've heard better songs such as the ones that have leaked all year round like List and Fall.
