GO GIRL grew on me after the first listen but I remember when the song leaked as a demo. It was actually called 'Hood Girl', and not Go Girl, so you'll notice that the lyrics have switched up quite a bit. At first, I dismissed it as a typical-sounding T-pain song as it has a similar backdrop to Chris Brown's 'Kiss Kiss'. On the other hand, that track was in fact certified hotness so I'm guiltily drawn in unfortunately. After the second listen, Ciara's new song is infectiously catchy. Although she follows T-Pain's lead with the slightly auto-tuned vocals in some areas, I totally appreciated that she didn't over do it. She may not be a strong singer but it's not like she's a Cassie or a Lumidee in that aspect and vocally, when she's good and ready she can pretty much hold her own. The song may appear to be sexual but my take on the song after listening is that Ciara is noting her physical fluency and how she's set to wow once again with her flow, her style and the huge volumes of swagger that her body exhumes. So you know that the choreography for the video is going to be crazy crazy siiiick. I think she wants to let us know that she is now here to bring back the spark on the music scene that's become increasing tame as of late (sans Beyonce and Britney). Go Girl is the official lead single from Ciara's third new album 'Fantasy Ride' which is set to be released this December.
