♫ KERI HILSON: DO IT [NEW SONG].....

More songs continue to leak from Keri Hilson's forthcoming album 'In A Perfect World'. Due to the mass leakages, Keri's album has been pushed back again to October 14th, but by then what will be left of the project when October rolls? A new song called 'Do It' has now presented itself in its full entirety. It's a shame about the quality though but it's definitely worth checking out.

I think the song is ominously hot. It samples LL Cool J's Hip Hop classic 'Doin It'. Well, the original sample comes from Grace Jone's 'My Jamaican Guy' but the younger and more street/Hip Hop crowd will be more familiar with LL Cool J's take. I was totally digging Timbaland's gritty production on the track overall. The chorus rides hard with its infectiousness, although it does have a 'The Way I Are' feel to it as well. And the track oozes sex throughout from the lustful vocals and enticing lyrics. The song which features fellow R&B singer/songwriter/producer Tank is reportedly going to be Keri's follow-up single to 'Energy' (which hasn't been doing as good as expected). Those who aren't familiar with Tank, he worked with Aaliyah on her amazing but fateful last album 'Aaliyah' and he also worked on Kelly Rowland's floppylicious sophomore 'Ms Kelly' (that's to name few of the many R&B artists he's blessed his great production with). The issues and label politics surrounding Keri's album could be an unfortunate one if this whole thing escalates into a Kiley Dean sequel. If they end up pushing back the album to early 2009 (which has become the latest R&B trend as of late), then I don't really see the point. Keri may as well ditch trying to get solo spotlight to doing what she does best - writing hot smashes for other artists and doing sexy cameo's in other music video's that just aren't hers. I'm hearing that 'Human', her collaboration with Chris Brown is set to be a new single from C. Breezy's 'Forever', so maybe this is the exposure and momentum she needs.
